Sturgeon's Law: "Ninety percent of everything is crud". This is derived from a quote by a science fiction author, Theodore Sturgeon, who once said, "Sure, 90% of science fiction is crud. That's because 90% of everything is crud."
Sometimes a more optimistic second clause is added, "...but the remaining 10% is worth dying for."
